SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – No. 16 Dominican women's soccer fell 1-0 Saturday afternoon to Humboldt State in its final game of the season at Kennelly Field.
The Penguins (5-1) outshot the Jacks (1-0) 11-7 with five shots on goal, but they could not sneak any balls past HSU's Alexis Aguilar.

Abbie Gould then got in on the action with a shot from the top of the box in the 37th minute which Aguilar saved, but a turnover gave the ball right back to the Penguins in their offensive third. Freshman midfielder
Audrey Nakashima had a good look at goal from just outside the box off the turnover but her shot sailed high. Dominican prevented the Jacks from getting any shots on frame in the second half.
The Penguins continued to apply pressure early in the second half as
Claire Brown attempted to beat Aguilar high in the 52nd minute, but she made the save to keep a clean sheet. The Jacks made a push in the final 15 minutes of the game as Dana Scott sent a ball low but junior goalkeeper
Jaqueline Catano was there to make the save. On a subsequent corner, Baylee Groom sent a ball right into the middle of the box and Brooke Weese was there to put it home inside the near post for the 1-0 lead.

Annika Cerini had the best scoring chance for the Penguins in the final minutes with a shot towards the lower-left corner in the 82nd minute, but Aguilar made the save to complete the victory.
