Game One
Olivia led the game off with a single for the Hawks (0-2) and quickly stole second, but Keltner followed a fly out to right by striking out Hailey Kissee looking and then scooping a grounder and throwing to first to end the frame.
Christensen then led off the bottom of the first with a single to shallow center moving to second on a sacrifice bunt and stealing third. Sophomore outfielder
Peyton Mott walked and stole second as the Penguins continued to be patient in their hitting. Sophomore shortstop
Lauren Lapinid and senior third baseman
Alyssa Ramirez each drew walks to bring in Christensen for the 1-0 lead heading to the second.
Mott led off the third with a single up the middle and Lapinid reached on an error after laying down a sacrifice bunt, but Cienna Cheshier made a great play at first snagging a line drive and tagging first base for the double play to help the Hawks get out of the jam.
Keltner continued to roll in the fifth striking out two batters to keep the base paths clean and maintain the slim lead. The Hawks finally were able to get on the board in the top of the seventh as Chesier singled to left center to lead off the inning and a sacrifice bunt moved pinch runner Sara Garcia to second. Hannah Haynie followed by lacing a single down the left-field line to bring her home for the 1-1 tie.
Neither team was able to get any runs in the eighth inning and Keltner left a runner strandedin the top of the ninth to keep the game tied.

Game Two
The Hawks looked good to start the second game as singles by Aly Cerda and Lyndsey Widner put two on with two out, but Cheshier lined out to center field as the Penguins escaped the frame. HNU once again found some 2-out magic in the top of the second as Kimberlee Walston and Cassidy Simon singled to put runners on second and third. Waltman induced a ground ball to first to end the inning and keep the Hawks off the board.
Waltman helped her own cause with a double to center with one out and sophomore infielder
Faith Erb walked to put two runners on the bases for the Penguins. Sophomore catcher
Celeste Salas doubled to center to bring both runners home for the 2-0 lead. Freshman
McKenna Daley kept the momentum going with a single up the middle and then stealing second while Christensen drew a walk to load the bases to chase Ela Villanueva from the game. Chailey Stewart entered the circle in relief, but the catcher muffed a catch at the plate which allowed Salas to come home and Porto to reach safely. Stewart was able to finally stop the bleeding with a strike out and fly out to end the inning.
"It was a long at bat for me," Waltman said. "I got deep into the count and I was just waiting for something I could get ahold of. I'm just happy that my teammates batting before me were able to come in and score me."
Olivia O'Neal and Cerda led off the top of the third with a pair of singles as Holy Names attempted to close the gap, but Widner lined out to Ramirez who then flipped the ball to Erb at second for the double play. Christensen then scooped up a soft grounder at first and touched her base to end the frame.
Leguria entered in relief in the fourth inning for the Penguins and quickly retired the Hawks on six pitches. Leguria allowed only one hit and kept the base paths clean over the final two innings for the victory.
