SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – Dominican women's basketball had its most balanced offensive performance of the year in a 90-73 victory over Holy Names University Monday night at the Conlan Center.

Senior forward Jerusha Paine led five Penguins (8-13, 5-10 PacWest) in double-figures with 28 points to go with 13 rebounds for her 11th double-double of the year. Sophomore guard Camryn Figueroa added a career-high 17 points, while Julia Razo also finished with 17 points including 3-for-5 from behind the arc.

Alexandra Candelario led the Hawks (1-17, 1-13 PacWest) with 14 points and seven rebounds. Samaiyah Abdullah added 10 points and five assists for HNU.

Razo led the early charge for Dominican as she found Sydney Larocca cutting to the basket, who finished through contact for a 3-point play. Razo then knocked down a jumper from the baseline and the 6-0 run gave Dominican the 9-4 lead three minutes into the game. Razo then knocked down her first 3-pointer of the game while Paine added four points in an 8-0 run to extend the lead to 11 with four minutes remaining in the quarter. The lead grew to as many as 15 in the period on a layup from Larocca, but Brooke Clinton knocked down a transition 3-pointer to cap a 7-0 Hawk run to cut the gap to 26-18 heading to the second.

The teams traded buckets for most of the second quarter with Dominican regaining and holding a double-digit lead most of the way. Figueroa cut to the hoop and finished through contact in the final minute to push the lead to 13, but Clinton answered with a 3-pointer with seven seconds left in the half to make it 45-35 at the break.

HNU pushed to close the gap out of the break as Abdullah and Christa Feingold knocked down back-to-back shots behind the arc to make it 47-41, but Brittney Cedeno came back the other way and knocked down a pullup 3-pointer to end the momentum. Cedeno knocked down her second 3-pointer minutes later before Figueroa stole the ball before knocking down two free throws to push the lead to 57-45 with 5:45 left in the quarter.

Paine sank a 3-pointer from the elbow to end the third quarter scoring and picked up where she left off in the fourth with four more points in the first minute to build a 72-56 lead. Cedeno then highlighted an 8-2 Penguin run with as she picked off a pass on one end and took it the other way for a layup before finishing through contact to extend the lead to 19 points. It was all the room they needed as the teams traded baskets the final five minutes.
