Box Score SAN DIEGO – Dominican women's volleyball fell 25-21, 25-19, 25-19 Friday night to Point Loma Nazarene University at Golden Gymnasium.

The first set went back and forth with the Sea Lions holding a narrow lead and they were able to withstand a late Penguin run to secure the 25-21 victory.
The second set went back and forth through the opening minutes until Grace Hicks stepped in with back-to-back blocks for the Sea Lions to spark a 3-0 run to take the lead. PLNU would extend the lead to five, but
Rebecca Smith sparked the penguins with a kill and a block assist to turn the momentum and
Edee Leslie served up an ace to cut the deficit to 20-18 late. Madie Fox came out firing for the Sea Lions after a timeout with back-to-back kills as they closed on a 5-1 run.
The Penguins looked to take some early momentum in the third as
Tiffany Wong went on a personal 3-point run with a kill and two aces to make it 8-6 Dominican. PLNU responded with a 3-0 run of their own Fox then sparked a 4-0 run with two kills and a block to extend the lead to six and the Penguins were unable to cut into the lead in the closing minutes.
Dominican will head to Azusa Pacific to play Saturday at 7 p.m. PDT at the Felix Event Center. Live video and stats will be available online.
