Box Score ST. GEORGE, Utah – Karitza Reyes tied the game with a home run in the top of the seventh, but Dominican softball fell 6-5 to Fort Lewis in its second game Friday at the 2018 Dixie State Easton Classic at the Canyons Softball Complex.
 
Reyes finished 2 for 4 at the plate with two RBI and a run, while Alyssa Ramirez and Emily Ginn were both 1 for 3 with a solo home run for the Penguins (1-5). Kellsi Peterson finished 2 for 3 with two RBI for the Skyhawks (1-7).
 
Trailing by three runs in the top of the seventh, Alexis Chinchilla singled and came around to score on a wild pitch to close the gap to two. Reyes stepped to the plate and took the second pitch she saw over the left-center wall for a two-run home run to tie the game 5-5 heading to the bottom of the seventh.
 
After Allison Young grounded out to the pitcher to start the frame for Fort Lewis, Angelique Elemen homered to right field to give the Skyhawks the walk-off victory.
 
Denae Fisher opened the scoring for Fort Lewis in the third with a single up the middle to bring home Pillar Gutierrez from second. Julia Roberts, Kellsi Peterson and Emily Selby all doubled in the fourth to bring in four more runs and extend the Skyhawk lead to 5-0.
 
Ginn started the comeback in the fifth inning with a solo shot to left to lead off the inning for the Penguins. Alyssa Ramirez did the same in the sixth inning to make it 5-2 before the decisive seventh inning.
 
Dominican will face Western New Mexico at 10 a.m. MST Saturday before facing UC Colorado Springs at 3 p.m. at the Canyons Softball Complex. Live stats will be available online.
