Box Score SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – Dominican men's basketball fell to Academy of Art 72-65 Saturday at the Conlan Center.

Jeremiah Gray led the Penguins (5-14, 4-8 PacWest) with 19 points and senior
Reverend Maduakor added 14. Cole Morgan and Kendall Brown each finished with 18 points to lead the Urban Knights (8-11, 7-6 PacWest).
Academy of Art took an early lead in the first half as Morgan hit a jumper and Keil Long followed with a 3-pointer, putting the Urban Knights ahead 14-8 at the
under-12 media timeout. After the Penguins fell further behind at 20-11, Gray knocked down a jumper and sophomore
Xavier Williams followed with a 3-pointer to make it 20-16. Academy of Art responded with a 15-4 run, allowing them to take a 35-20 lead going into halftime.
After falling behind by as much as 18 early in the second half, 3-pointers from
Xavier Williams and Gray trimmed the Penguins' deficit to 45-35. Dominican continued to try and reel in the Urban Knights but Academy of Art was able to maintain a double-digit lead for most of the half. With just over eight minutes left in the game, Chris Williams II knocked down a triple from the wing to again cut the Urban Knights' lead to 10 and on the next Penguins possession, Gray hit one to make it 53-44. A couple of minutes later, Grey buried a 3-pointer from the corner to pull Dominican closer at 57-51.
Academy of Art responded with a pair of buckets but Grey remained hot, hitting another 3-pointer from the right wing to make it 61-54 at the 4:31 mark. After the Penguins took a timeout, the Urban Knights got a layup from Cameron Niven and a 3-pointer from Brown to make it 66-54. With Dominican trailing by 10 with a couple of minutes left, Maduakor completed an and-1 to make it a seven-point game. The Penguins deficit remained the same until Uchenna Okeneme hit a 15-foot jumper that bounced around and dropped in, making it a 70-61 game with less than a minute left in the game, helping to seal the deal for the Urban Knights.
