Box Score NAMPA, Idaho -- Dominican women's volleyball fell Friday afternoon to Northwest Nazarene 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-16) in the second match of the D2 West Region Volleyball showcase at Johnson Sports Center.

Senior
Aimee Steinwand led the Penguins (1-5) with 10 kills on a .250 hitting percentage. Freshman
Hana Wyles added 12 digs and four assists for Dominican, while freshman
Josie Walser had 13 assists.

Madi Farrell led the Crusaders (6-0) with 16 kills and four blocks, and Kendra Bodine contributed 12 kills and two blocks.

Farrell led the Crusaders on a 6-point run to begin the first set with three early kills. The first Dominican point came from a kill by junior
Kate Even, but the Penguins could not grab the momentum from the host. Steinwand gave Dominican its biggest run of the set with back-to-back kills in a late 3-point surge, but the Crusaders went on to take the set.

Northwest Nazarene took another large lead early in the second set with a 5-point run, including back-to-back kills by Farrell.
Susanna Pilkerton found the floor on a kill to give the Penguins their first point in the set, and Dominican went on a 3-point run in the middle of the set with aid of a couple of NNU attack errors and a kill by freshman
Eleni Loizou to make the score 16-8.

Dominican started to find more success in the third set, keeping the set close until a 4-0 run gave the Crusaders a 12-7 lead. Steinwand and
Cat Thomason tried to regenerate the momentum late in the set, but Farrell provided the difference with three straight kills to end the match.
