Leslie Mesa has been named this week's PacWest Softball Player of the Week. The awards are based on games played March 30-April 5.
Mesa guided Dominican to five wins in six PacWest games on the week. She hit .667 (11-for-17) with two doubles, her first career home run, three RBI, and six runs scored. The Bakersfield, California native was 3-for-3 in wins over both Chaminade and Notre Dame de Namur, giving her three three-hit performances on the season. She went 4-for-6 in a doubleheader sweep of Academy of Art and scored the winning run in the Penguins' 6-5 game two walkoff win.
