Box Score HILO, Hawai'i — Three players scored in double digits but the Dominican University of California women's basketball team never recovered from a slow start in an 83-64 Pacific West Conference loss to UH Hilo on Saturday evening.

Senior Noelle Roldan came off the bench to score a career-high 14 points while Jasmine Cox and Sarah Nelson each added 13 points. Jessy Marshall added nine points off the bench. Cox led the Penguins with a season-high 10 rebounds to give the senior her first double-double of the season.

Dominican (0-12/0-6 PacWest) struggled from the field, especially deep, where the Penguins went just 3-of-17.

After a brief lead in the opening minutes, the Penguins saw UH Hilo (4-6/3-3 PacWest) rattle off six points and the Penguins would never lead again. A nine-point Dominican run early in the second half whittled the lead to four, 46-42, but the Vulcans countered and pushed the lead to as large as 20.

Kamie Imai led all players with 19 points and was one of three Vulcans in double digits.

The Penguins head to Chaminade University (1-8/1-2) on Monday, Jan. 6. Tipoff is slated for 5:00 p.m. at McCabe Gym in Honolulu, Hawai'i.
