BELMONT, Calif. — Sophomore
Kayleigh Klingberg went 2-for-5 with a run scored and freshman
Leslie Mesa went 1-for-3 with an RBI but the Dominican University of California women's softball team was unable to get the offense going on Wednesday as the Lady Penguins were run ruled 8-0 and 12-1 in Pacific West Conference play by Notre Dame de Namur University.
The host Argos (23-30/9-17) collected 25 hits en route to the two five-inning victories while limiting Dominican (3-45/0-30) to just six hits.
Dominican's lone run of the day came in the bottom of the third inning of game two. Klingberg singled, advanced to second on a passed ball, and moved to third on a
Kellie Hislop groundout. Klingberg crossed the plate on Mesa's sacrifice fly to left field.
Dominican will face NDNU again on Friday when the Lady Penguins host the Lady Argos in a doubleheader at McInnis Park for Dominican's season finale. Dominican seniors
