Lady Penguins Fall in Straight Sets to California Baptist

Sari Kwan led Dominican with 16 digs in Thursday's loss at CBU.
Box Score RIVERSIDE, Calif. — The Dominican University of California women's volleyball team lost in straight sets, 25-16, 25-16, 25-16, to California Baptist University on Thursday in Pacific West Conference action.

Dominican (6-17/4-11) was paced by Jessica Jones for the second straight night. She recorded 10 kills but the rest of the offense was contained by the Lancers (18-7/11-4). Skyler Moon, Samantha Rains, Ashlee Sand, and Hannah Stocking-Siagkris combined for the other 11 of the team's kills. On the contrast, CBU saw three players each reach double digit kills, led by Ingrid Carmona's 16 kills and 10 digs.

Freshman Sari Kwan led the Lady Penguins with 16 digs, followed by a dozen from Stocking-Siagkris. Kwan added a pair of service aces and fellow freshman Rebecca Schira added the first ace of her college career.

The Lady Penguins wrap up the 2012 campaign with a match in San Diego at Point Loma on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 2:00 p.m.
