HONOLULU – After winning its first match of the season Sunday in five sets, the Dominican University of California volleyball team lost in straight sets to Hawai'i-Pacific on Monday night and will now face highly-ranked BYU-Hawaii on Wednesday night in a televised game in the Pacific West Conference.
Against HPU, the No. 6 ranked team in the NCAA Division II West Region,
Skyler Moon had a team-high six kills and
Katy Batchelder recorded 11 digs but the Lady Penguins lost 25-18, 25-14, 25-16.
Sarah Bain had 25 assists for Dominican (1-19, 1-10) against the Sea Warriors (14-8, 9-4). Teammates
Ashlee Sand and
Seluia "Ria" Falealili contributed five kills apiece,
Hannah Stocking had seven digs and freshman
Samantha Rains had two blocks.
