BOX SCORE

BELMONT, Calif. — The Dominican University of California women's volleyball team fell in straight sets, 25-21, 25-12, 25-15, to Pacific West Conference rival Notre Dame de Namur University on Wednesday night.

Dominican (0-18/0-9) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in set one but five straight Argonauts (5-21/5-8) points flipped the momentum — and the lead — to NDNU's favor 14-7. A Skyler Moon kill pulled Dominican within two points at 23-21 but a pair of Dominican errors gave NDNU the first set.

NDNU used a five-point run to jump out to an 11-3 lead in set two and the deficit grew to 19-6 after an eight-point Argonaut run. The two teams traded runs in set three but Dominican was unable to get the momentum back on its side.

The Argonauts were led by Christin Villamayor's dozen kills. She was one of four Argos to reach double digit digs with 11.

Moon, who missed the Lady Penguins' last match due to injury, turned in her best performance of the season with a career-high 11 kills. Jessica Jones added four kills and led Dominican with 15 digs. Katy Batchelder added 10 digs and Hannah Stocking had eight digs.

The Lady Penguins head to Hawai'i for a week long, five-match roadtrip. They'll start off at Chaminade University on Sunday, October 30 and will play the remaining four games against three regionally-ranked teams: BYU-Hawaii, Hawai'i Pacific Univeristy, and the University of Hawai'i at Hilo, who they'll face twice.
