BOX SCORE 1 | BOX SCORE 2

HILO, HI — After enduring multiple rain delays, the Dominican University of California women's softball teamed dropped its Pacific West Conference doubleheader at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo on Monday afternoon by scores of 8-0 and 14-0.

The Vulcans (10-5/6-4) stymied Dominican's bats, limiting the Lady Penguins (1-6/1-3) to just a walk in the first game and two hits in the second game. Each game went just five innings.

In game one, Jill Rizo walked in the first inning but Hilo's Amber Waracka was perfect after that and didn't allow another baserunner. Lesley Fay was charged with the loss for Dominican, being charged with all eight runs, seven earned.

In game two, Robyn Ridpath and Jessi Saaty each had a hit but the Lady Penguins were again unable to plate a run. Saaty struck out a pair but took the loss.

The Dominican women return to Hilo on Tuesday to face the Vulcans for two more games before traveling to Oahu to face Chaminade for a pair of doubleheaders on March 11 and 12.
