SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Mark your calendars for Dominican University of California's first annual Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night on Feb. 18. The event, sponsored by Dominican Athletics, will take place during the basketball doubleheader against Pacific West Conference opponent Academy of Art University.

As Dominican transitions into the NCAA, the Department of Athletics is working towards creating a lasting partnership between faculty and students in order to promote the awareness of student-athletes on campus. Dominican Athletics will honor the School of Business and Leadership and the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences during the two games at the Conlan Center. Furthermore, the deans of each school will accompany the teams on the bench as “honorary coaches.”

Students, faculty, and staff have the opportunity to mingle over refreshments at a free reception and compete in halftime competitions at halftime of the women's game. The two Schools will be honored by student-athletes during halftime of the men's game.

Tipoff of the women's game is slated for 5:30 p.m. with the men to follow at 7:30 p.m.
