SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — In the final match of the 2010 volleyball season, the Dominican University of California Lady Penguins fell to the Toros of Cal State Dominguez Hills, 15-25, 18-25, 10-25. The night included a milestone for senior setter
Brooke Swingle, as she reached 2,800 career assists early in her final collegiate match. Swingle finished with 23 assists for a career total of 2,822.
In addition to Swingle's assists, Dominican (3-26) was led by freshman
Hannah Stocking's nine kills on the night. Leading the Lady Penguins in digs was freshman
Ashley Pittman with 18 on the evening.
As for the visiting Toros (4-24), freshman Elaine Hicks led the team in kills with 15. Junior Shelbi Vopnford led Dominguez Hills with 19 digs.

Lorel Grande led a presentation honoring Swingle's career. The senior was accompanied by her parents, Donita and Matt Swingle.
The match concludes the season for the Lady Penguins, who finished 3-26 under first year coach
Gayle Stammer. Dominican will only lose Swingle to graduation and after a full season of competition under its belt, Stammer's freshman-laden roster will look to compete in the PacWest in 2011.
