SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — The Dominican University of California women's volleyball team fell in three sets in their final match of the 2009 season to Grand Canyon University in Pacific West Conference action on Saturday, 9-25, 8-25, 17-25.
As a team, the Antelopes (21-8/10-6) hit .438 compared to just .065 hitting by the Lady Penguins. Erica Ehlo led all players with 13 kills on .500 hitting while adding 10 digs.
Senior
Gabby Pecora led the Lady Penguins with eight kills and 10 assists in her final performance in the black and gold. Fellow seniors
Lorel Grande and
Tianna Tuatagaloa each had two kills. Four-year letter winner
Jacqueline Woodall recorded two digs in the loss.
Ashlee Sand had six kills on nine attempts for Dominican.
With the loss, the Lady Penguins finish the season with a 6-24 overall mark. In their first season as a member of the PacWest, the Dominican women finish at 1-15, recording their a sweep of Academy of Art University on Oct. 30.
