Molly Aloia joined the women’s tennis coaching staff season in the spring 2013 and was promoted to head coach in September 2014. Aloia was a four-year varsity player for Saint Mary’s College, where she graduated in 2012 with a degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in health and human performance.
She enjoyed great success with the Gaels and for three seasons with former Dominican head coach and SMC product Alex Poorta. Aloia played an instrumental portion in winning the first West Coast Conference title in the Gaels’ history by winning all of her matches, including the final one in the the conference tournament. While in Moraga, she earned SMC's Senior Athlete of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.
Aloia earned four letters in tennis and one in soccer at Great Oak High School, where she finished with a remarkable 257-5 high school record, including a perfect 60-0 mark as a freshman. She was named the All-Valley Player of the Year, Sunbelt Most Valuable Player, and DeAnza League Most Valuable Player during her high school career. She earned all-league and all-valley honors all four years.
She comes from a tennis family, as her two older sisters Caitlin and Shannon, also both played tennis at Saint Mary’s. Caitlin also played for Aloia for the 2013 season after transferring to Dominican.
Aloia has coached summer camps and taught private lessons since she was 15. She has worked as a pro at Murrieta Tennis Club and The Club at Harbor Point.
