I want to thank you for your interest in becoming a Penguin Club member to help support Dominican University of California Athletics. The Department of Athletics is committed to providing each of our 11 varsity sports and 200 student-athletes with the highest quality experience during their tenure as a Penguin. Through the loyal support from our Penguin Club members, Dominican Athletics will strive to be a premier NCAA Division II athletics program while providing student-athletes opportunities for academic excellence, competitive success, and personal development for a lifetime of achievement beyond collegiate athletics.
As one of 13 institutions in the Pacific West Conference, Dominican student-athletes have the opportunity to compete locally, regionally, and nationally. The PacWest is an NCAA Division II affiliate consisting of eight institutions in California, four in Hawai‘i, and one in Utah. In 2014-15, Dominican will compete in its sixth year of NCAA Division II membership.
Perhaps as impressive as the Penguin’s on-the-field athletic prowess is the equally high standard reached by its student-athletes in the classroom. In 2013-14, the athletic department celebrated its fifth straight PacWest Academic Achievement Award with an overall GPA of 3.41. Most notably, all varsity sports had a team GPA of 3.075 or higher.
Aiming to continue to be one of the premier academic and athletic institutions in the PacWest, Penguin Club members will help achieve this goal by providing much needed support in the form of scholarships, equipment, facility upgrades, travel, recruiting, uniforms, and advancement of the overall student-athlete experience.
You can make your gift in support of the Penguin Club Scholarship Fund or to a specific varsity sports program. As a member of the Penguin Club, you will have opportunities to meet with our coaches and staff, receive our Penguin Weekly e-mails keeping you up to date on the latest results and headlines in addition to invitations for upcoming Penguin Club events (aka Chilly’s Cove Receptions). Plus, you will enjoy the recognition and benefits of joining Dominican’s family of donors!
