IRVINE, Calif. – Dominican University of California women's basketball player
Sandra Ikeora has been named this week's PacWest Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The awards is based on games played Nov. 28-Dec. 4.
Ikeora earned her second weekly honor of the season with a historic performance over two games. She averaged 23.5 points, 17.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.0 steals per game in two Dominican wins. She had 22 points, 25 rebounds, five blocks and three steals against Cal State Monterey Bay. The 25 rebounds were a Dominican DII record and the third-most in a game in Division II this season. She followed that with 25 points and nine rebounds against Holy Names, making 11 of her 14 free throws. Ikeora leads the PacWest and is 11th in the nation with 44 free throws on the season.
The Penguins host BYU-Hawaii on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 5:30 p.m. That will mark the Seasiders' last-ever visit to the Conlan Center, as BYU-Hawaii is discontinuing its athletics program after the 2016-17 season. Live stats and pay-per-view video will be available at
