SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Dominican University of California Women's Tennis Head Coach
Cristina Visico has announced that Kaitlyn Nguyen has signed a letter of intent during the early signing period.
"I am thrilled that Katlyn has committed to continuing her tennis career at Dominican. She is a student-athlete who is dedicated to both her tennis and academics," said Visico. "She will be an integral player for our team. She is an aggressive baseliner with an all-court game and will contribute greatly to both our singles and doubles lineups."
Nguyen was a four-year varsity player at Dougherty Valley High School in San Ramon, California and was a freshman when senior
Rickimae Torres was on the team. That season, the program won its first NCS team tennis title. As a senior, she went 12-1 and won East Bay All-League individuals and was third in NCS individuals. She was consistently ranked in the USTA Top 50 in Northern California. Nguyen plans to study Nursing at Dominican.
The Penguins' 2017 campaign is scheduled to begin on Friday, Feb. 3 at 11 a.m. verus Arizona Christian.
