IRVINE, Calif. — Dominican University of California sophomore forward
Mariah Meza has been named this week's PacWest Women's Soccer Player of the Week. The awards is based on games played Sept. 21-27.
The Santa Rosa, Calif. native tallied three goals on the week, putting all seven of her shots on goal in two games. She scored the game-winner and added an insurance goal in Dominican's first win of the season over CBU. She also scored the game-tying goal in a 2-1 overtime loss to Concordia.
Dominican next takes the pitch when the Penguins host Holy Names on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 12 p.m., followed by the men's teams at 2:30 p.m. The Dominican soccer teams will help show their commitment to the fight against pediatric cancer as they wear gold laces for Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer®, an initiative of Go 4 The Goal. All funds stay in the community where they are raised to support local children, with the funds from this match benefitting UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland.
