SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Softball Bingo is returning to Dominican University of California home softball games during the 2016 season. Softball Bingo cards will be distributed at game one of all home weekend conference games throughout the season.
Softball Bingo is free for fans (with paid admission or a valid ID for entry) and will take place during game one of the following PacWest doubleheaders: Saturday, Feb. 27; Sunday, Feb. 28; Saturday, March 19; Saturday, April 9; and Saturday, April 30.
The card resembles a standard bingo card but rather than the usual letters and numbers, fans will instead find spaces representing a softball play or situation that could occur over the course of a game such as a hit or strikeout in a specific inning, stolen bases, home runs, errors, or eight or more hits by a team. As events take shape on the field, fans take in the action at their seats by checking off events in a bid to complete their card. Cards fill quickly and fans who complete their cards in different winning formats are eligible to win great prizes, which will be reset for each game of the doubleheader:
Blackout (all 25 spaces including free)
The
first fan to correctly create mark off all spaces on his or her Softball Bingo card is the grand prize winner for the day and wins a $25 gift certificate to Mountain Mike's Pizza.
"X" Marks The Spot (nine spaces including free)
The
first fan to correctly create a diamond shape on his or her Softball Bingo card wins a Dominican Athletics portable power charger.
"Softball Diamond" (eight spaces)
The
first fan to correctly create a diamond shape on his or her Softball Bingo card wins a Dominican Athletics T-shirt.
Traditional Bingo (five spaces including free)
The first 10 fans to correctly create a traditional bingo (across, down, or diagonal) on his or her Softball Bingo card may choose from the grab bag, which may include squishy penguins, car chargers and sunglasses.
One prize per person, per day. Prizes are subject to change without notice and are subject to availability.
